We’re quickly becoming fans of anything Millionyoung gets their hands on (though the Memoryhouse original is solid too)

Unfortunately the song seems to be popular enough that it can’t be found for free (legally, that is). Well, we like it anyway.

The club collar never seems to make more than a token appearance every so often in a shirt collection. Over the years you might spot a few in the collections of some of the more conservative and classic lines out there like Brooks Brothers and J. Press. More recently, however, they’ve begun popping up in the collections of more contemporary designers (or maybe we just started paying better attention; correct us if we’re wrong).
Are they slowly catching on? We hope so. It seems that Our Legacy was doing some last year, and then over last summer we thought it was officially going mainstream when it appeared on The Times Style Mag and they deemed Patrik Ervell the King of Clubs.
But… despite some love in the blogosphere (eg, here, here, and lots more recently from Sart Inc here and here) it seems like it’s the same few designers making use of them. Here’s where we’ve decided to step in. Biased Cut will soon be offering a club collar option to select (and maybe even all) shirts. It’s just too great of a touch to ignore.
Stay tuned, but until then, enjoy some samples of what’s out there today…
We’re a little tired of being limited to the availability of YouTube videos, and having to find other sites from which to allow the download of songs for free, so we’ll start offering more here on biasedcutblog.com.
Note: if any musicians or labels would like us to take them down, please send us an email at biasedcut at gmail dot com, and we’ll happily oblige.

Even though we’ve already posted about another Beach House song off of their latest album, now that we finally have our hands on the whole thing, we realized that one wasn’t enough. The whole album is fantastic – and Victoria Legrand’s voice is especially beautiful in this track.

We constantly obsess about the quality of, and caring for, our best pieces of clothing. However, not much attention seems to go towards their proper storage as they hang in our closets. But at some point in his life, a man needs to upgrade from any wire or plastic hangars he’s accumulated in his closet to well-designed wood.
The Hangar Project supplies various hangars, depending on the type (and size) of clothing. Of course here we must recommend the shirt hangars in order to prevent any dimpling and creases in the shoulders. But items like suits, and even softer knit shirts, deserve just as much (if not more) attention and care.
The price may seem a little steep – and it is – at $55 for a set of 10 shirt hangars. But it’s a long term investment and one you may as well make sooner rather than later.
Also known as the day cravat, the foulard, or simply just the silk necktie, the ascot has gained popularity as a noteworthy modern accessory. Imagine it in the same league as round horn-rimmed glasses, pocket squares and club collars of the late nineteenth century. As the Art of Manliness blog points out: Outdated, but all the more charming. Designer Stefano Pilati wears the ascot particularly well with a collared white shirt and black suit (second photo below). One of the great things about accessories is their versatility; although typically seen at formal events, ascots can also be worn with casual attire, as they provide a classy and unexpected touch to an otherwise plain t-shirt underneath. What better alternative to an open neckline? To avoid coming across as pretentious, choose one with a subdued pattern, and wear it lower on the neck so that just enough shows to add a pop of color to your outfit. Tom Ford has one, while J. Press has a decent and well-priced collection.
Not sure how to tie it? Open to interpretation, but pretty similar to the necktie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_hA7QKUJuU.
Definitely excited to pump these songs/artists this week. Gonna be a good playlist.

Another addition to our spring collection – this time with a couple greens and a few shades of purple. We’re constantly looking at new fabrics, sometimes even giving fabric suppliers the vamoose when they just can’t stock what we want. We’re obsessing over the best quality and colors out there, while still trying to get the most for our money. It’s an ongoing process, and we’ll frequently have a few shirts at a time posted as we find fabrics and designs that are worthy.
As always, our shirts are $85 plus $5 shipping, and until Feb 14th we’re offering $30 off your first shirt.
Have shirt recommendations? Theme ideas? Our suggestion box is always open (hint: it’s the comment box below). Sign up for an account on www.biasedcut.com and join our mailing list, or just check back here.
Apologies for the delay. Onto the music…

Loving the Joy Formidable. The only reason we haven’t posted it earlier is that it was too difficult to choose just one song. Three other greats are Austere, The Greatest Light is the Greatest Shade, and Cradle.

We’ll keep this short: if you’ve never tried Smartwool socks, do yourself a favor and try a pair. Smartwool shouldn’t necessarily be competing with these socks in your wardrobe, but they apply to just about every other informal occasion. Warm, fitted, and padded, these are like having a Dr. Scholl’s permanently strapped to the bottoms of your feet. A price of $15-20 may seem steep for one pair, but the socks last forever, too.

It feels like we hit a treasure trove of music recently, so much that we briefly entertained making this a daily post – but we’re all about the shirts! Doesn’t mean we can’t still rock out though with these dandies:
