Vintage wear – the Pocket Watch
October 5, 2009
We were intrigued over the weekend when we noticed a friend wearing a classic vintage piece – the Waltham pocket watch, dating back to the turn of the century. Understated yet unique, we think it’s a great look for an item that shouldn’t be limited to just guys. These days, there are enough options on Etsy, eBay, and lots of other sites that anyone can sport one. But if it’s your grandfather’s old time piece, as is the case here, it’s all the more special and interesting. And even if not, who’s really going to call your b.s. anyway?

So simple yet so perfect
wow, I kind of feel like a jerk. I’m always raving about how every dude should have a pocket watch (so charming), but NEVER EVER did it occur to me that I could string one on a chain and go crazy rocking one myself. This is awesome.
I know, right? That’s why we were so impressed by it. It took some good old chutzpah, and we dig it.
I have a friend who has been rocking this look for the past coupla years. But as a male with a small collection of pocket watches, I gotta say that modern mens clothes don’t accommodate the pocket watch all too well. Being asked if you’re wearing a chain wallet really puts a damper on ones feeling of personal style…
