Engineering marvels – The Blade-Free Fan

Now this is cool. Dyson has made a modern standing fan that ever-so-magically blows a constant stream of air – without any blades! Apparently it’s a simple feat of engineering, and the curious among you can read more about the science behind it at Wired.

Wonder if our parents would have opted for this instead of the antique Westinghouses we had growing up. Those things were so heavily guarded they may has well have installed an electric fence around it.
