A change of buttons

November 17, 2009

The devils are in the details. And when it comes to details of clothes, think buttons. That’s partly what makes up for the price difference in clothes; trims are what inexpensive fast-fashion brands skimp on in order to save costs, and among those trims, buttons are the most noticeable. Thousands of button styles can be found in local button stores. In New York, M&J Trimming and Tender Buttons are great options.

So here’s a glance of one-of-a-kind, quality buttons. Substitute your average mass-produced buttons for some of these to bring flair and uniqueness to your outfit. They can be sewn on by your local tailor or dry cleaners for $1 to $3 per button – small price to pay for an instant edge. We suggest trying them on blazers, dress shirts or cardigans.
